Ed O'Reilly will present several topics as time and audience participation permit:
- Setting and saving user preferences that provide the individual user some control over how your application looks and feels to them, no matter where that user is logged-into the app. Saving preferences such as datasheet column widths and colors used on a form will be covered.
- A review of generating crosstab queries. Also Ed will demonstrate methods he has used for generating reports based on the results of crosstab queries.
- Ed might also tell us a little about his involvement as a "consultant" to a high school robotics team. This will include his views on how high school robotics is evolving, etc.
Coming up next month at our March 14 meeting:
We are fortunate to have scheduled our "annual" presentation from SB Chatterjee:
"Introduction to PowerShell for Database Developers".
PowerShell is a command-line scripting language primarily designed for system administration. Unlike VBScript or DOS batch files, PowerShell is built upon the .NET Platform which makes it customizable and extensible for other purposes. This introductory session will show the PowerShell language constructs that can be used for database systems (with examples that highlight PowerShell's use in the Access, SQL Server, and SharePoint environments).
